Peer Health and Wellness Educators

Learn More About Peer Education at Bryn Mawr

OwlWell's Peer Health and Wellness Educators (PHWEs) provide crucial health and wellness resources and education to the campus community. Read on to learn more about our fabulous PHWEs!

PHWEs are dedicated Bryn Mawr students who work in OwlWell to support holistic health and wellness on campus. They provide open office hours, educational programming, community connection events, resource referrals, and much more!

PHWEs go through an extensive 35 hour training prior to the start of the academic year to prepare for their roles. Some of the areas the PHWEs cover in training include, but are not limited to:

  • Health behavior theories
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Health education ethics
  • History and application of self & community care
  • Resource referral
  • Boundary setting and values clarification

It is important to note that, while OwlWell's two professional staff members are confidential resources, the PHWEs are mandated reporters.

Like our professional staff members, the OwlWell PHWEs also host drop-in open office hours in The Nest (2nd Floor - The Well)

Whether you have questions about wellness, need a listening ear, or just want to hang out and craft, PHWE open office hours are a great place to meet your peers and learn a little bit more about yourself and your wellness.

PHWE Open Office Hours:
Monday - Thursday - 7 pm to 9 pm (PHWE office hours do not operate during school breaks).

The 2026 / 2027 PHWEs are ...

  • Rukmina Dhakal
  • Sawyer Fair
  • Wilhelmina Lawerh-Lawerh
  • Aden Noor
  • Adrian Safford
  • Ashvy Shah
  • Sambridhi Shrestha
  • Sasha Weisman

Applications for our 2026 / 2027 cohort are now closed. We will re-open applications for our 2027/2028 cohort in Spring 2027.

What we look for:

  • Students with a passion for providing empathetic, medically accurate, and culturally aware health and wellness support to the 91直播 community.

  • Students willing to learn about a variety of health and wellness topics in a supportive environment.

  • Students excited about joining a team of peers who engage in outreach and education with the goal of supporting the overall wellbeing of the campus!

Things to keep in mind:

  • At this time, PHWE positions are available to undergraduate students only - rising Sophomores through rising Seniors.

  • PHWEs are required to return to campus before Customs Week to participate in a mandatory, week long intensive training. Students who hold jobs that require that they work or train during that week as well will not be eligible to work as a PHWE.

  • PHWEs must commit to a weekly 1.5 hr meeting to discuss upcoming events and participate in further training and professional development.
