Stanley Collins is an urban sociologist and Visiting Assistant Professor in Growth and Structure of Cities. His research and teaching interests include race, urban landscapes, music, and ethnographic methods. Stanley is currently working on a book manuscript — titled A Rock Club on the Moon -- which focuses on gentrification in Philadelphia's Fishtown neighborhood, race, music venues, and reputational change. Prior to joining Bryn Mawr, Stanley was a Provost's Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania in the department of City and Regional Planning. He received his PhD in sociology from Temple University.
