Deborah Barkun, M.A. ’01, Ph.D. ’05

Deborah Barkun, M.A. ’01, Ph.D. ’05 is the new director of the Middlebury College Museum of Art. Barkun was previously creative director of the Berman Museum of Art, where she curated numerous exhibitions, and director of museum studies and associate professor of art history at Ursinus College. She is also a sought-after guest lecturer and presenter at universities and conferences around the world.

Clea Benson ’91

Clea Benson ’91 was promoted to senior managing editor for policy at POLITICO in February 2026. She was previously managing editor for policy at POLITICO and editor of the financial services team. Benson also coordinates POLITICO’s newsroom internships and runs the Pipeline Committee, a group of journalists who work to increase diversity in the newsroom.

Erika Finager ’97

Erika Finager ’97 was promoted to professor of pediatrics and neurology at Oregon Health and Science University, where she has been a pediatric neuromuscular specialist since 2010. In December, her clinic was awarded $16 million to establish the Ramberg Ford Pediatric Neuromuscular Disorders Center, which she directs.

Hannah Henderson-Charnow ’17

Hannah Henderson-Charnow ’17 was named a 2026–2027 Luce Scholar with the Henry Luce Foundation in the area of government and public policy. Henderson-Charnow currently serves as legislative and budget director for New York City Council District 39.

Jennifer Hunt ’93

Jennifer Hunt ’93 was named dean of Dartmouth College’s Geisel School of Medicine in April 2026. Hunt is an internationally recognized pathologist and physician-scientist who has been serving as interim dean at the University of Florida College of Medicine. She will be the first woman to lead Geisel in the medical school’s 229-year history.

Gwen Lloyd ’91

Gwen Lloyd ’91 was appointed dean of the Penn State College of Education, where she has served as interim dean since October 2025. Alyce McKenzie ’77

Alyce McKenzie ’77 was presented with a lifetime achievement award by the Academy of Homiletics, the academic guild for homiletical scholars and teachers at colleges, seminaries, and universities worldwide. McKenzie, an ordained member of United Methodist clergy, has taught at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, since 2000.

Daniela Holt Voith ’75

Daniela Holt Voith ’75 and her architecture practice, Voith & Mactavish Architects, were honored with the 45th annual Arthur Ross Award by the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art, an international recognition of lifetime achievement in the design of traditional buildings. Voith has also taught architecture in the Growth and Structure of Cities Department since 1984.
